Just bought an LS430 Wood Steering wheel for $68.00 Shipped!!! It was Item#7954889503
I'm contemplating using it in my 1995 ES300 or waiting until the next car comes in a month. I've been going back and fourth but I've finally decided to upgrade to the 97-01 style ES300. I'm gonna do a FrankWhite conversion (with the 02 SC430 wheels, 1 inch drop and tint) but mine will differentiate quite a bit (expect another HID retrofit and custom Navi install) so I won't follow the crowd. Since we can't post Ebay links, I've decided to post the pic of the wheel itself
I hear these things run about $2500 at the dealer! Geesh. Any word on how much the airbags run?

Nice deal you found on the LS430 wood steering wheel. Once you have the wood wheel installed, you won't want to go back to your old wheel
As far as the airbag goes, those things are very expensive, even from Ebay. Expect to pay at least $600-$800 per airbag, even higher for the later models.

I found a place where I can get them 100-200 off a 95-97 year LS400. I wonder if they fit the same wheel. Are LExus Airbags interchangable or does each car have its own. Like would my now 95 LExus ES300's airbag fit this wheel? OR would the 97-99 model ES I'm gonna upgrade to have an airbag that can fit my new wheel? The wheel is off an LS430 2001 model. Thanks
Oh by the way, I also found a source where I can get SC430 wheels for 100-200 a piece (no tires) and I've already bought the caps off Ebay for 25.00

Whoa Mr. Lex. Your car is an inspiration! I look forward to joining the ranks in a little bit. I always wanted the 97-01 style. I think its the best one Lexus came out with regaring the ES300 vehicle. Thats why I didn't do much to my current car. I was always waiting on upgrading. By the way, you have a nice chrome Xbox trim as well. How long did it take to install that? And is that an SC430 steering wheel? I see it has the T shape (which is even harder to find)

I believe the steering wheel from MRLEXUS' ES is off of a '02+ ES300, judging by the "MODE" and "RESET" buttons on the lower left of the wheel. Not sure where the airbag is from, but probably from a 2nd-gen GS.
I can't say with certainty whether the airbags from a '95-'97 LS will fit in a '01 LS wheel, but I doubt an airbag from a '97-'99 ES will fit in a '01 LS wheel. I'm guessing that the '01 wheel requires a different stage airbag, and therefore the best fit is probably from another '01. Just my $.02
