I found this in a local ad. Anyone think it is a worthwhile investment? I am guessing it is more durable than stock. Not sure what other benefit it has.... faster 0-60? Any help would be appreciated... It is listed for 300.00
This is a BRAND NEW Billet torque converter custom made by B&M and LevelTen to TRD's (Toyota Racing Development) specifications. It has a stall speed of 3500rpm vs 2200rpm stock. This high performance torque converter will improve off the line performance, rapid acceleration, and torque multiplication, which means MORE power, FASTER 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, and LESS wheel-spin. Retail cost is $899. A standard Toyota converter retails for $697. This high performance torque converter fits all A540, A540E, A541, and A541E transmissions, used in Toyota Camry v6 years 88-01, Solara v6 99-02, Sienna 98-01, and also Lexus ES300, ES250, and RX300 of all years. The torque converter is usually the first part to fail in a transmission, which the cost to you is a full transmission exchange. By upgrading to a high performance converter, you will assure yourself that you have a "bullet-proof" transmission that will last for hundreds of thousands of miles.
