OEM rotors are VERY expensive... I believe $120 for the rears and $180 for the fronts, however on tirerack.com you can get basic non-drilled, non-slotted brembo rotors which Ive heard are even better for less than half the price. Next time I do brakes, thats what I'll probably do.
This is my idea: OEM pads, brembo basic rotors, and stoptech SS lines.... anyone see anything wrong with this? Any extra noise or anything?

As an example, I purchased OEM front pads and rotors from Irontoad for less than $200 shipped. Can't get better than that

Not for an SC400... I can only find them as low as $112 for the front (each) and $169 for the rears (each) which comes out to over 500 bucks for rotors alone. I'll take the brembos for about 200 a set thank you.

I am not an expert, but be careful about drilled or slotted rotors. These are fine, if they are manufactured this way. There are cheap knock-offs that are drilled after the fact and these warp easily.
Brembo is a good option and I am confident in whatever Tirerack would be selling. By the way, how many times can the ES rotor be turned?
Now for brake pads, I am going to look into Axxis Deluxe Plus. These are ceramic so they are quiet and very low dust level. I'd estimate these to be $50 a set.

I just bought an 1992 ES and I also was looking for rotors, I found this website called www.luxurymods.com and I purchased a set of Slotted Rotors w/ zinc plating for $275 shipped. I have not put the rotors on my car yet but I did take it to a local mechanic shop to have it resurface, I was told that the quality was pretty good. I'll keep you updated after I get these installed.
