Stevie I think Mash nailed it
thats exactly the piece I'm talking about on my 2000. Its held on by like 4-5 hex bolts. Mine cracked when I went through some heavy snow and was hanging down on one side so I just pulled it right off. I might replace it in the spring when I do some Maintenance.

That is exactly the piece to which I am referring. I am going to call the Lexus dealer and see what a new one costs. Thanks to all who responded!

Splash guard, and the inner fender liners are also splash guards. They came loose on my wife's '97 ES300, and are rubbing on the tires. Each costs around 140 bucks. Poor installation after a front end bash.

It, and the other splash guard pieces are engineered to be there for a reason. Note that the front fender well splash guards attatch to these pieces for their front support. Yes, airflow design, but also little things like keeping water from splashing up into the engine compartment, especially onto the exhaust manifold or other hot engine parts. Gravel, dust, mud, flamable leaves, not good in engine compartment. After my wife had a wreck with her pristine ES300, I discovered that the bozos who repaired it did not replace these items, so now I have to try to find them at a non-dealer price. Otherwise, it can run hundreds of bucks. The wind forced the fender splash guards rearward against the front tires, wearing big chewed places in them, so now I have to replace those as well. Arrrrggghhhhh.
