ive got this problem with my stereo system (stock). When I play radio stations the music skips or clips, but when I put in a casette the music if perfectly beautiful. What could my problem be? A friend of mine suggested it could be a fuse, my question is which fuse is for the radio?

Does it do it when the car is not moving or does it only skip when you encounter a bump? The reason I ask is that it may be that you have a loose connection somewhere between the head unit and the antenna (check plug on back of HU, etc).

No it does it all the time anywhere everywhere whenever the radios on, i dont know why the casette player is fine though... perhaps its something to do with the antenna?

I would get to the back of the stock radio and double check the connections. Go ahead and reseat the connection by unplugging both of them and plugging them back in. Then test. If it still happens buy a cheapo antenna and hook it up temporarily to make sure it is not related to the antenna or antenna wire.

whoops, I did purchase a new antenna assembly from ebay auto a year ago and its fine. Last night I sat in my car and read the handbook on the audio section. There it talked about FM fluttering, that the signal is weak because of environmental factors and distance so it skips. Then I tried AM and it was okay, also I tried a FM station that was closest to my location and it did not skip. But it did not do that before, only recently it happened. Now I believe it is the antenna. keps thanks

Its not the fuse, its either go or no go with fuses.
Cant be connectors in the back or the speakers if the cassette and AM works fine.
You changed the antenna out a year ago and it was working good till now.
I would check the antenna connection in the trunk. It might have gotten loose.
Also, did you add any other electronic component recently? remote starter, alarm system, cell phone accessories?
