Hi,

I recently purchased a 1997 ES300. For some reason when I start the car without giving it gas for a couple seconds, the rpms drop and the car stalls. If I give it gas when I first start it then I have no problems.

Can anyone help me figure out how to resolve this situation?

could be a number fo things, but places to start:

clean the intake, and run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner.

I've added some fuel injector cleaner. Not quite sure how to clean the intake on this car, though... Can you offer any links to this... Would throttle value spray be a good idea?

get some throttle body/air intake cleaner from autozone or wall mart. just about any brand wil do.

remove the hoise that connects the airbox to the intake manfild. pull the throttle cable until you see the inside fo the buttervly valve (the only thing that moves inthe throttle body when you pull that valve. thats what you gota spray. but make sure the car is running when you spray it, if its not, you could flood it.

tats the easy one and it will get you by for awhile.

the harder version involves taking of the Upper intake mainfold itself and cleaning the entire thing. that i cant help you with. i can do it on mine, but mine is an entirely different motor.

Im gonna do mine the easy way, probably tomorrow. if you want, i can take a few pix.
