Enlarge Dash Speaker Hole
The Lexus came stock with a 3-way component set in the front of our cars and they did so for a good reason. Seperates will always sound better than the integrated 2/3-way speaker. I imagine that most of our fellow ES owners have just slapped a 6.5" 2/3-way speaker and maybe some tweeters in the stock location. If they splurged they would likely only have gotten a 2-way component set still leaving the midrange speaker where the midbass speaker belongs. Still, Audiophiles would argue that a midrange speaker reflecting off of the windshield throws off the entire "front stage" anyway. Im going to avoid bulky kickpods for my setup this time. Anyway...my point is.
Does anyone think its possible to enlarge the hole where the 2.5" dash speaker is to acquire a 3" - 4" speaker? What would get in my way? I popped them out one time but didnt really know whats under there that looked like it could go.

If the Lexus system only has a midbass speaker and a tweeter, what speaker would play the words? I believe you are referring to a midrange speaker. But no. The 96 model has a tweeter on the door, 2.5" midrange in the dash, and a 6.5" midbass(woofer) in the door.
