ES300SD

Who has had a CD deck installed in their ES? How much was it to have it custom done? I guess theres no real need for one with the CD changer in the back...but its nice to have the changer + 1.

if you buy it from the dealer, they shouldn't charge you for extra installation('cause it is being added to the HU retail price)

if you buy it off the 'net, it cost no more than $50 for a customer install if the HU fits your car, ES always need some modification to fit after market HU, you can find that out by looking at your stock opening, it is not a evenly opened rectangle. so it will cost, i will say $50 for customized. <$100 in total.

If you are near a Wiz store, you can go to their car audio department, they will have a list for installation charge.

but if you have a Really Hi end HU, like eclipse, no question they will charge you a little more.

Thanks alot man, I have a Sony M750, i dont know if its too "high end" but its a nice HU...I was thinking if it would make it easier for them, and to fill up the space if i got a equalizer also...b/c i was looking at it..and if it was just the HU in that huge opening...it would look so lonely...any comments?

the last pic shows the combination of my Panasonic/Kenwood, it looks great with a HU.

my cousin has sony M600/650(I forgot) with the kenwood too, all he does is cut a piece of wood with the same size of your radio opening, on each side of back(inner) of the wood piece, he attached the metal bar to the housing and the wood piece. then cut rectangle opening for your HU and EQ. last he cut a Black film and clue to the wood piece, now you have a nice looking custominzed radio face. You want more fancy? get the Carbon Fiber Sheet rather than the Black film, Now you are talking about eye catching piece of xxxxxxxx(what ever you want to call that)

I have a JVC kameleon deck installed in my ES300, I used to work at Best Buy and I was friends with the guy in the install bay so he came in early in the mornings and worked a total of 10 hours to take my old deck out and create me a new surrounding for my deck, that fit exactly into the spot where the orignial deck belonged, and it looks sweet as hell!!
Buti guess it will be pretty expensive, because originally he did not want to do it and it takes a lot of work
