Default lowering my car

Guys, I have a 98 ES and everything on my car is stock. If i wanted to lower my car about an inch or two, what parts do i need? I did some search and found i can do this with coil covers? This might sound like a really dumb question but, what's the difference betwee, springs, coil covers, struts and shocks??

struts and shocks are the same thing, the words are used interchangeably

if you wanted to drop your car, just get springs and new shocks (stock shocks dont hold up too well after a while with aftermarket springs)

coilovers are a complete spring & shock assembly, but the height and dampening are adjustable

I would say for a good set of intrax springs and some tokiko struts, the best deals would be on ebay.....check with us though...don't get cheap springs...

but if you'll spend 600+ install on the strut/spring combo....might as well go for some coilovers for another 200 bucks...get some literature on some coilovers and learn what they can do for ya

I did some search on it and it seems like coilovers are the way to go but very pricey, considering im already getting wheels thats WAY out of my budget...
Are there any good coilovers i can get for about $7- $800 that can bring down my car about two inches?? Gato, can you sell me your coilovers?

also, my car makes that thump, clunk, rattling noise all around (front and back), i read posts that if i replace sway bar bushings, strut & mounts, that these noises will go away.. If i get coilovers, does that replace strut mounts too?

what kind of coilovers are you talking about? quality coilovers are over $1500, anything cheaper than that are all crap.
