This was one of the toughest categories to settle. The ES 330 has excellent crash-test scores, but so does the Acura TL--and the TL has happier owners than the Lexus. But, the Lexus has a higher Consumer Reports' predicted reliability rating than the TL (as does the Infiniti G35 and Subaru Impreza WRX STi, which would have been our pick, were performance the sole criterion). And what gave the Lexus a decisive advantage over the others was its superior residual value. It also happens to have world-beating comfort and is a joy to drive.

That's excellent that the ES took first place! Considering it one of the oldest platforms in the bunch.

That's good news.
Now if they could only make a design that's more attractive.
I hate the new design, also the shifter is way too small. Feels like a toy.
