Sorry to see what's happened. Did anybody have something against you?

Over a year ago, on another forum, some poor guy had his car written off in a parking lot. They dented all the body panels, broke all the glass, deflated the tires, smashed the headlights and grille...bascially everything they could possibly do.

Oh geez Doug & bumfighter! How much damage & are you both getting 'Lexus' parts or aftermarket when repairing?

Well today i went to school with my moms car... called her up to see how much they wanted and the cheapest place she could find for it to be done was at Rodi's Auto Body in Cherry Hill.. they wanted $968.00 and the insurance deductible was $500 so basically its $500 and the insurance will reimburse the money 1-2 days later ($468). The job should be done by 2pm tomorrow. I cant wait to get back my lex. I'm thinking about buying the Luxlink Platinum stage security system to arm the vehicle with the factory alarm to its fullest potential... any suggestions? any one have it worked? can someone detail the description of how sensitive is this system. I need my car fully arm now since i live in a bad city. If any help... thanks!

That seems like alot. I had my windshield replaced at it was only $214 because they are related somehow. Its probably aftermarket but seems fine.

And this is for just a rear glass replacement?? Something doesn't sound right

You're better off going to a local, independent auto glass shop. There should be plenty of those kinds of shops around, and they can also install OEM glass for you if you ask. Off the top of my head, I'm guessing the cost to replace the rear glass is in the range of $300-$500 (before deductible).

Damn, you got ripped off bad. SC300Es recently got his rear windshield replaced and I'm pretty sure it was much less than $1k. And yes, he got an OEM Toyota windshield.

no not actually, i checked the LEXUS dealer and they said the windshield was $704.00 and the labor for installing it was $250.00 but you would have to bring it to this other location that teams up with the dealer and get it done. O well thats that!
