Default NGK Iridium IX for 95 ES?

Anyone has experience with these? I'm looking to change the plugs at 120kmil.

Also, are NGK blue wires okay for the ES?

Thanks

i using NGK XI now.. just changed it a week ago.. notice a little smoother.. but then again. the old plugs were NGK also.... it's a standard to use NGK i guess, from owner manual. only $6 a pop of iridiums. way better than Denso's $10 a pop..

as for the wires.. i think all wires are almost the same.. but some more expensive wires are low in ohms..i think the lower the ohms the better.. but i could be wrong..

Not necessary to get the NGK Iridiums. It's overkill imho for a stock engine. Stick with the stock Dual tipped Denso Platinum PK20's or go with the OEM Denso Iridiums for the 1MZ-FE, SK20 from your local Toyota parts department.

There are no plug wires for the 94-95 1MZ-FE V6 because it has individual coilpacks for each plug, only 96 and newer have 3 piggyback plug wires for the rear bank.

Ah, thanks. But NGK is cheaper than OEM. Overkill might it be, it's easier on my wallet.

Also, when should I change the coil packs?

Go the most cost effective route. But remember the performance iridiums don't have the life of the OEM iridiums. Expect to only get 30k or less with the performance iridiums.

You never need to change coilpacks unless one goes out (unlikely).

Thanks for the advice. Where can I get denso iridiums (SK20?) for a decent price? Please don't say "your local lexus dealer".

Thanks

lol, I suggested that in the maintenance forum as simply a 'starting point' (might as well get the most expensive price out of the way first right?)

Cool

FYI, "OEM" Ngk plug number is: BKR6EP-11 (NGK stock number 2978). Gap of .044.

I'd stay away from the Iridium IX personally, they don't last as long as OE Iridiums. The above NGK are laser platinums which if I had the choice, would put in the car personally simple because of their longevity over the IX iridiums. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks guys.

What about IFR6T-11 OE iridium plugs from NGK? Any feedbacks? They are $8.07ea.

the Laser platinums are $7.60ea at sparkplugs.com, is that an okay price?

Denso SK20 are $9.35ea. I would choose the NGK over Denso.

Not sure if they fit.....they are not in my NGK catalogue (2004 edition). If they do go for it.

I've heard of them before & some members use them......no personal experence however. I wasen't impressed with their website & how much longer can they actually last considering the NGK & Denso's (OE btw) are good for 100k - 120k miles +. I'll take my chances with those personally.
