Hi guys I have a question. Did the 1995 lexus es come with autodimming side view mirrors?. The reson I ask is the passanger side mirror was hit in the parking lot and only the glass was broken. When I took out the actuall mirror it had a wire connected to it and in the back it looked very very similar to my lexus gs side view mirror so im wondering if they had those in the 95 es and the es has a sensor in front of the dash near the front window which looks exactly like my lexus gs light sensor, the only thing is in the few times that I drove the car I never actually seen the side view mirrors dim at night.

I think that wire would be for the heated mirrors. As far as I know they dont have autodimming side mirrors

I think the autodimming function only happens on the drivers side mirror. I could be wrong there though. I agree w/Brando. I believe its for the mirror defrost.

Yeah. I agree. DEFINITELY for the heating element. There were no auto-dimming side mirrors on the ES.

The auto-dimming feature for the side mirrors wasn't implemented until the 2000 ES model (only for the driver's side). The 2002 model has auto-dimming for both side mirrors.
