I just did a small Sunday project: Painting the Break Caliper.

The color I picked is Silver, thought about chrome. but can't find the paint, so I went with silver.

It looks great, at least I think so. and It is easy.

I will post pictures once I have more time.

highly recommand people to do it. Just don't do it Silver if you are in NYC. I like to own its unique look. hahaha

Default Hi temp paint.

If you know you are getting HI TEMP PAINT, you should know where to get them. :P j/k

You can get it from PepBoy, Home Depot, I got it from Auto strauss Store.

I think you can get it from AutoToys.com, but I don't want to wait.

Color, If I were you, get Chromed up!!!

I pick silver 'cause Strauss doesn't have Chrome, and I am such a lazy *** that don't want to go to other stores.

It ends up good though. I am happy with silver.

I didn't spray them though, all I did is spraying them into a bowl, then brush it on with a small brush. That way I don't have to mask off the fender. I think it is better than spray on.

I am just too lazy!!!! lol

Default It takes about

2 hours or so.

I did it in my own garage. dust shouldn't be a problem even if you don't have a garage. unless it is windy city.

I took four rims out all together, then apply each caliper by turns, so at the time I finished the last one, the first one is ok to start the second coat. I did about only 3 coats. I think it is ok, dunno yet until it start peeling off. but so far so good.

it is easy DIY, so get your hand dirty and you should be able to find a way to fix problems.

I just fitted new rotors on my TT, they arrived with a nice matt silver finish on the hub - cool, this lasted a week before it started to turn brown rusty - not cool.

At our last LSOC meet Charlie Bruder showed me his red painted calipers looked OK but not for me, then I saw his hubs all black and clean, he used Hammerite, do they have a high temp version?, anyway it seems to stick well.
