Headlights
#16
Hmm maybe I need to realign my headlights. I've had Silverstars for a couple of months now and have been fairly frustrated with them. They seem very faint when on the road...

Sounds like you are all in need of a HID conversion. Our stock projectors are actually perfect for HID. Here is a crappy picture of mine.. The stock halogens were terrible at lighting up the road. You couldnt see anything. After putting in the HID, I would never go back.

The hex head bolt is left & right, the one in the alignment device is up & down.
hottness ofcourse silverstars seem faint on the road, they're not going to be any more light than a new halogen bulb, it's just slightly less yellow. Even doing a 9005 to 9006 swap you're only getting like 10-15% more light. That's not even visible if you have good bulbs. I know, I was one of the first to do the 9006 to 9005 silverstar swap LoL!
I put the dang things into the highbeam housing & put some HID's in the low beams.
If you can't stomache it, HID is the only way to go, but for god's sake spend the time to modify the stock halogen projector to work with an HID bulb so you're not blinding people!
Above the cut-off
Below the cut-off
If you don't modify it, they'll leak light above the stock halogen cutoff & you'll blind people. Not only that, but because the stock projector len's stick out & are surrounded by bright chrome housings - you get a lot of light reflected at weird angles to begin with that shouldn't be there.
Don't put HID's in stock projectors - it's not cool - they don't have the light sorce to cut-off, or light sorce to lens distance correct for HID's. They do glare.

My stock projectors dont leak any light what-so-ever. I will take some better pictures at night with an actual camera to get the idea. Projectors are made for HID...
Here is a picture of what glare looks like.... See the hot spots above the cutoff?
These are Bosch Xenon D2S HID Projectors
