Default aem cold air intake question

to those of yall who have aem cai in the 94-96 years, i think lexbox and 3rdelement do (o btw thanks for really great threads), i just got one also (but not have installed yet) and i was wondering if you guys are ever worried about water getting into your engine when it rains and stuff. i talked to an aem guy and he said that they dont make bypass valves for our specific cai....but he also told me not to worry about it either because water wont get in unless the WHOLE filter is submerged...

newayz, jss wondering if u guys had any solutions to get around this problem..or is this something i shouldnt worry too much about?

thanks!

lol 2kracing.com sells one for it just make sure to get the correct diameter.

but i just drove through a 2hr rain storm where hummers and escalades were pulling over because of visability....no problems at all.

if you drive your car into a ditch full of water yeah you are going to have a problem. I have my car professionally washed and they use extremely high pressure water blown up into the front inlet in the bumper...again no problems. Get a bypass if you want to. i dont use one and it works great.

Cool

Less you're trying to cross a river. You don't need a bypass.

You have to suck up like... 50CC of water, per combustion chamber, to hydrolock the v6's. That's a lot of water, and they ca do that. If you submege the entire pipe while the car is running.

Just look at water injection. Mine puts out between 200-400cc of water across all the cylinders.
