Hey all,
My 93 Es with 145k just started leaking power steering fluid like crazy. I looked it over and found there is a line that runs from the pump around the back of the engine and over the top on the drivers side above the rotor. It then goes to some kind of cooler attached to the Radiator fan. This line has two metal fittings that look like they are crimped. Both of these fittings are leaking like crazy. Has anyone changed these out? How hard is it and where can I get the part?

Hrmm i think the power steering is what runs the radiator fan. I'm wondering are you having overheating problems? I'm thinking that when you have a power steering leak, your fan will not spind as fast. My car overheats when i'm on the surface streets but when i'm on the freeway it's okay because of the wind. I"m just trying to find out if you are overheating at all on normal street for long periods.

It's a thing on older lexus. It happens when you run the air for a decent period of time in the heat... the added heat causes any small holes or openings to expand causing a downpour. Mine did it for two years or so in the heat... just keep a bottle of PS fluid handy in the car and check it every few days to save yourself the trouble of getting a new PS pump.
Best of luck with it!

Yeah you guys were right. I just took it to a shop because the air conditioning stopped cooling and they said it was because of the power steering line. It was causing the fan not to come on properly therefore making everything hotter. I am just going to have them replace it as it looks quite messy.
