Default Newbie seeking help on suspension

Hello,

I recently bought a used 1998 ES300 with 160k miles. The car is in great shape (inside/outside) but only thing that bothers me is the suspension. It makes all sorts of noises and seem VERY worned out. I searched this site and read posts regarding this matter. I'm not looking for performance parts or parts to lower my car but rather looking for OEM, smooth original lexus trademark suspension. What are the parts I need to replace my entire suspension(are there any model/part numbers?) and how much should i expect to spend? I was told to stay away from the dealer and get the parts elsewhere. Are there any places online where i can get these parts?
Thanks in advance.

My car had the same problem. I had a loud knocking sound whenever i went over any bumbs. I just replaced the front struts with some KYB-GR2 aftermarket struts and the noise stopped, but some people also replace the strut mounts. I bought my struts on tirerack.com, also strut mounts can be found there too. BTW, the KYB shocks ride better than the stock shocks imo.

KYB are the best... i had my GR2 in there for sometime now and it's still running like new. if your suspension are as bad as you say.. you're need to change the struct mount also... structs shouldn't be more than 80bucks each... but the mount,, i'm not sure.. try www.rockauto.com also.

Thanks for the reply guys. I tried rockauto.com, looks like they don't carry suspensions for our cars. Are there any other places?

How much effect do lower springs have on suspension?
