Unhappy Check Engine!

Okay, I've searched the forums...and maybe I'm blind but I never found the answer. Yesterday, I get in my ES, and proceed out of my driveway, when the Check Engine light comes on. The car rides really rough, rumbles non-stop, and takes forever to accelerate. What happened?!?! Just the day before I was cruising without a problem.

Just thought I would ask because my sanity can't wait for the three day weekend to be over. Any thoughts, let me know.

Jump your diag port, put the car in acc mode and count the # of flashes.

Had the same problem with my '01 ES last year. Turned out that one of the solenoids in my transmission system crapped out, thus making the tranny not operational in the long run (took long time to reach 2nd gear from 1st gear, and there were mis-shifts in the process). It really sounds like what you're already going through, and like mcelligott has said, get the error codes from your check engine light. You can get this service done for free from any Autozone store.
