Lexus can't even figure it out. (transmission)
#31
I hope this will be the last problem for a LONG time with this car. Well Lexus called this morning and after ALL of that work they have been doing, and after people here and myself telling them it was a sensor, THEY finally got the smarts to realize that. Guess 3 transmissions tat were new could no way go bad that quick. They said they were going to put a new computer in. My question now is, does anyone know about how much one of those things are because I am really looking to get some of my money back from this unnecessary transmission work. $2400.00 is a lot of money to me right now and I don;t believe that the computer will cost that much. HELP!!!

The reason I ask is because I would like to get some money back from the transmission if possible. After all that, I should since that is what I told them to check in the first place. Thanks for the pictures. Where is all this located on the car anyways? If that was the case with the sensor, lexus said that is the reason I needed the new transmissiopn in the first place because the sensors were not letting the soleoids open up and supposedly burned up my clutch. Same with the 2nd trans. Only that has not been drove a total of 30 mins before that light came on. Does that even sound right??? From what I have read before, if one of the solenoids fail, that wouldn't hurt the transmission. Hell if I know.

If the dealer doesn't budge on helping you out (seems that it's entirely their fault!!), you may want to bring this to the attention of Lexus Corporate in a formal letter. They may be able to help you with your situation. Repair order numbers, dates and names definately help.
Sorry to hear about your story though =\ It makes dealers look really bad when we have Lexus Certified technicians and all the resources under the sun to make sure it's correct.
Good luck
