I'm curious how true any other Es owners' red lines are? I have a 97 and although the red line is at 6500, the rpm's never get that high, the upshift comes at 6000 rpm's, even with overdrive off. Anyone else notice this??? Can anything be done to allow higher revs, closer to red line???

Just wondering cause the transmission will shift to how u drive (fuzzy logic)

For instance if some old lady owned it for 2 years and cruised for 2 years, the transmision is basically chilling

Should adapt to your heavy right foot eventually

Wow a 97 5 speed what a thought....
Yea my mom drove my lex for 3 years before I bought it and it shifts out of first at 6 grand instead of 6500. Top speed rules on it though...138MPH and it felt like I was goin 90 maybe

Between Cleveland,TN and Knoxville, TN there is a very flat stretch of highway. Its actually well known for its wrecks due to the fact its nortorious for bad fog in the mornings. It was about 3:00 in the AM and I was getting tired so I decided to push it and wake my *** up. I didnt think it would do over 130....car handled like it was goin 80 or 90. The car dropped at least 2 inches and man.....looked like the tractor trailers on the road were standing still

PS: did I mention I had 3 other people in the car?

I think just let OD off and do L, 2 and Drive then let OD on....then you will be able to hit the fuel cut.

I've ever got up to like somewhere 138mph on 60freeway

That' can't be good for the tranny. But if it will help my baby shoot up to the real 6500 then Maybe it's worth an occassional shot.
