Default 1995 lexus es 300 Air conditioner

hello everyone

i have a 1995 lexus es 300 with AC that works in the winter only

i want to get it fixed but every shop i went to is charging alot around 700 and up

one shop i went to said that the Condenser and Drier need to be changed
PROBLEM WITH MY AC is when i start my car and i turn the AC on it works fine for about 10 to 20 mins and even sometimes for few hours AND ITS PRETTY COLD AIR

but when its hot outside, only works for about 10 minz

just starts blowin hot air, WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM

even the shop said they aint sure it could be something else, but they said lets change the condenser and drier first and then we will go from there

i dont want to spend all the money on condenser and drier if it still doesnt fix my ac

i like in california yuba city and its pretty hot down here now around 100 almost every week

so please let me know any good shops that can fix this for me

does anyone know anybody or can fix my ac please let me know thanks

Sounds like a sticking expansion valve. The AC on my wife's 94 ES was acting this way until we had the expansion valve replaced in April, 2004. It has worked great since then. The cost was about $450.00.

This is a very common problem on mid-90's ES models. It has been discussed numerous times. Do a search.

^^ that could be it.

Also, the AC clutches could be slipping and kicking it off.

First of all, when was the last time you had it charged? does it hold a full charge?

expansion valve.

as stated before, do a search on "expansion valve" and you will see your symptoms match.
