Oh, and just to clarify, the stock lighting is incandescent, not LED, so to make the switch you have to do some soldering and add resistors.

Not really. The stock bulbs in the radio are soldered onto the circuit board so they are not an easy fix. I only replaced the ones behind the LCD in the radio because they seemed to be the easiest swap.
