Anyhow, I'm not talking about build locations, differences, etc... I'm approaching this from an engineering standpoint - ie: which came first, the 1992 Camry or the 1992 ES300 - in other words which one was the original platform from which the other was 'based on'. People here claim the ES was built first and the Camry was a toned down version of the ES, but that just sounds like denial. Not saying the ES isn't nice... the 02+ models especially are night and day nicer than the Camry for the little extra$$ you pay (only about $3500 if you try to equip the two as similarly as possible option for option.
Plus the lexus service.

You also made it obvious you wanted to know which is built off of which, you don't have to explain it LoL.
The Camry is first, everything else is built off whatever the current Camry platform is. Like I said, the people you're talking to are very, very wrong.
