97 Speaker Upgrades Possible
I'd like to know what wattage rating does the factory Amp push to all 5 channels?
Is the crossover for all the speakers done from the headunit, or the amplifier? Any adjustability?
Been looking around for speaker replacement, and nobody provides any info on size, and whether it can be done or not. Im sure it can, but not sure how?
I'd like to upgrade the factory free-air sub with something heavier. Is it worth to change? Or should I just add a Basslink Sub from Infinity? Need all my trunk space..
Looking for some nice clean sound with a little extra ummph in the trunk. its not the Nakamichi as well.
Thanks for any help.

Its pretty easy to add the basslink. you can tap into the rear sub for the signal.
the front/rear speaker s are 6.5"
If i was you I would pull out the freeair sub and add the basslink...if not try the JL Audio IB8

Kill the stock amp, & headunit & factory crappy paper speakers.
Replace the speakers witha component set, kill the stock free air sub with one of the older kicker free air's.
If it's still not enough, reinforce the deck & mount some smb 6/8's in it, or grab some of the generic q-logic kick panels & mount them there.

Anyone know what the stock amp supplies? what about to the sub alone?
Id like to upgrade the sound only a bit, working on getting the new eclipse double din Nav unit with 30gig Hd built in.
what about buying a used Nackamichi amp from a separate es300, what are any of the benefits?
