The glass in my passenger side rearview mirror is cracked - does anyone know where I can find a replacement glass? Do I need a backing with it or can I remove the backing from my broken mirror and use it on the new glass? The mirror works fine (including the heater) but I'm tired of that crack in it. Thanks for any help.

I have not had to replace broken mirror glass in my 94 ES; however, I have replaced a mirror glass on my 93 LS. I would assume that the assembly is the same.
The mirror is available at www.newlexusparts.com or www.irontoad.com. As I recall, my mirror cost about $60.00.
The mirror glass has plastic clips which fit into slots in the mirror body. It would probably be best for you to order the new glass and have it in hand before you start to remove the broken glass. By doing so, you can see how the clips are laid out. Removing the old glass can be tricky. As I recall, the important step was to remove the bottom part first. This can be done by inserting a screwdriver or putty knife between the glass and the mirror body and then pushing outward. Once the bottom clip is free, the rest of the glass comes out rather easily. Be careful with the screwdriver, or you will chip your paint.
