Default Saying goodbye to the ES...

Well, I'm about 90% sure that the ES is no longer going to be driven by me on a daily basis. With all the problems it has been having lately (transmission, brakes, other little things, etc.), I am going to be giving it up to it's original owner, my mom. She hasn't had her "own" car since I've got my driver's license at 16. She is going to have the car repaired and has asked me to put it back to stock. So, I will have a bunch of crap lying around for sale... so please check out my for sale feeler thread here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=181673.

Just wanted to thank all of you guys around here on CL for being so great... all the info, help, suggestions, etc. helped me so much in helping me make what my car is today. I remember when I first came onto these forums, I wanted to put an aluminum wing on the car. hahaha

Anyway, I am now looking to get a 2006 Acura RSX as my new car. I can't really afford the Type S, and I'm not a racing or go-fast freak so I think I will be content with the base model. I always wanted a two door.... Honda. lol. But you all know that I will always be a guy LEXUS at heart!

NNNNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Juan, your work on that ES is one of the reasons I became interested in getting an ES for myself. That car's an inspiration... it's too hard to see her go quietly into the night.

And trust me on this one... going from a Lexus to any Honda made vehicle just isn't going to work. Honda builds some exceptional vehicles, but after you've spoiled yourself in a Lexus... very little else will ever satisfy you.

Juan i'm sorry to hear the bad news for you (good news for mom). That first pic or your ES you posted is definitly one of the hottest pics i've seen on this site of any model Lexus. I remember seeing It for the first time I was like it deserves to be in a magazine or even on a cover. Good luck in finding a new car. The Acura's nice but it's still not a Lexus.

Juan your ES is Beautiful and will be sadly missed by me and others I'm sure
. A very Fine example of a Clean understated Es with smooth lines and Great color.. Show worthy anytime IMO.. IT WILL BE MISSED

As with the RSX, well there great cars, and tons of potential with the motor.. If I was you, I would try to save up for the Type-S motor.. Worth it my opinion. Racing or not.
100 hp per liter of displacement is very good #'s
Test drive em out, see what you like. But I'm sure the type-S motor will leave you grinin...

Thanks for the kind words everybody. The ES is doing alright at the moment... I had the tranny fluid replaced. I will wait till tomorrow morning to see if it still hesitates. I will worry about the brakes later. The kit and rims are off now. Next up is to replace the drop springs to stock. Also, I need a stock muffler. If any of you want to trade for my Apexi World Sport 2 +some cash let me know...

The ES was my first car ever, so I am happy for the change. I have been driving my friend's Integra, and I am having much more fun driving it than the ES. The automatic tranny got me bored I guess! As for the Type S, honestly... It would be nice, but I guess I am cheap. I don't really need it... Plus I really do not want leather seats again!! Guam is too freaking hot...

sorry to hear...........its a shame, after all that modding and money

but, sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do

I'm confused myself on mine...I wish I could keep it and still get a GS or an LS.....

but gotta give it up if I want the other

good luck though with everything

Yes I am punching myself in the head thinking about all that money I spent on it. But that's the price you gotta pay when you mod a car like this. lol. I am going to keep the RSX stock I think after the experience with the ES.

Marc, the spoiler is up for grabs. Check out my thread for more info:

Juan,

why don't you buy another ES? I bet it'll be great project to work on.

Lexus is more fun than some stupid Acura.
