Anyone else have rattle from rear?
So my I got my first rattle on my 98 es300. I'm pretty sure it's coming from the rear deck, where the subwoofers and rear speakers are. Does anyone else have this? The rattle only occurs when i go over bumps or rough surfaces. I think it's my fault cause I was blasting the stock sound system today; today is when the rattle started to form. Anyone got suggestions on how to get rid of it? Maybe some sound insolation?

I hear more rattles now than I have ever heard in my 00 especially now that the cold weather is here. My car is quite noisy and I hate it but I think it's just what happens when you put 90K on a car and drive it every day on some of the worst roads in the country (I hate MA potholes ). When I go over bumps I hear creaking coming from under the dash on the passenger side of the car. Also when the driver or passenger seat is lowered ALL the way to the floor it rattles wicked bad, so I have them both raised a tiny touch. I also think the sunroof rattles a bit but i'm not sure if thats where its coming from because I can't isolate the sound . As far as the back of the car goes it's my 3rd brake light assembly that rattles when the bass is real low (I have a 12" sub). I have dynamat in my trunk and under the trunk lid so there's really not much that can be done. Turn the radio up a lil louder .

A typical rattle (or thumping rather) noise from rear on an older ES would be because of the rear strut mounts. They get worn out and cause more of a thumping noise.

I figured it out. Thanks guys. It was the case that held the rear center seatbelt when it retracted. If you look at that black box next to the stock sub, that part kept kitting the metal. I just put a piece of foam so the plastic would not contact the metal.
