Critique this ES
Saw this red ES on the way to dinner tonight.
Answer these 2 questions:
1) What do you notice that is good/bad about this ES?
2) What would you do to make it look better?
I have a few ideas, but I can't trust them without hearing other responses

I would put a little air in that rear passenger tire, then tear the spoiler off and the license plate bracket. I would also get rid of that ridiculous right angle bend on the exhaust and make something more direct to the headers.

I dislike having two third brakelights. On my GS, I actually had to buy an entire new rear deck once I added the OEM spoiler (with integrated 3rd brakelight) because I couldn't stand it.
My 92 Camry SE (not the same as an ES, but I'd hope this works the same way on an ES) came with the OEM rear spoiler with integrated 3rd brakelight. It actually had a little color-matched plug cover where the normal rear deck 3rd brakelight would be... Loved it!
I'd hoped to find something similar for the GS, but no luck. All sorts of issues with setting off the 'bulb out' warning if you removed the deck lid bulb, etc. Lots of ways to work around it, but none as good as a new rear deck with no light at all.
Also 'not to my taste' on this ES:
- spoiler appears to be too small for the car
- not a fan of the gold package
- forest of crap hanging from the rear view mirror woiuld have to go if it were mine

All are great quality replies. Nice to know we all think alike
Did you guys also notice anything weird about the exhaust? When I was behind that ES, I thought to myself that the exhaust seems a little bigger than stock. Then as I got closer, I saw what looked like Walmart-style exhaust tips welded in

The spoiler would have to go for reasons already noted (not matching size of car & 2 3rd brake lights?) The second thing I noticed was the cheapo exhaust tips . Third thing was the neglect to upgrade to 00-01 tails. Fourth and final thing is the Gold emblems just don't do it for me on the darker colored ES' would definitely switch them out for chrome.

TRD Spoiler (from gen4 camry), i'ved testfitted that with my ES300 (from the same gen) and its fits like a glove. Since the gold is old, its not as bling bling...I'd shave the emblems and paint em black. Pretty much that should make the car look good again!
Edit: needless to say, since i do a lot of small business loans w/ the SBA, i love those plates!

May I also suggest a new antenna. It looks like it is either stuck or broken. I think the emblems would look much better if they weren't fading. The exhaust tips are disgusting and the spoiler with the brake light kit needs to be 86'd.
