Default Oil change 97 ES 300 ?

Just went to k@n filters website to get the part number for an oil filter for my ES and GS 400... and they are both the same part number for both vehicles? Is this right? I'm using the K@N oil filter right now on the GS but not the ES...I'm doing oil changes today so i figured i would get one for the ES

Another question what is the oil capacity for my ES... I'm to lazy to look in the manual right now as i just woke up.... The car has been getting quaker state oil from my local mechanic and I want to change to Mobil 1? Is this ok? Thanks for your help

Tony

Cool

Toyota uses two main sizes of oil filters & everything made in the last, say 25 years uses the same pattern So, ya. That's right. One filter from one toyota engine will spin on any other one.
Denso filters rock. Stick with stock on the next change. They're like $3-4 at a Toyota dealer with a very high filtration rate, or $10-15 for a real nice Denso First Time Fit filter.
5 quarts
Quaker State is OK. There are worse oils , but it's not great by any means. If it's on sale it's fine for your basic oil change intervals. In comparison most of Mobil's entire product line is now either *arguably* the top quality you can buy in the category, or the top quality you can *easily* buy at a store anywhere you go.
Tho oil questions would be better directed to an oil forum.

Personally, I would swap. Mobil 1 synthetic kicks ***. Wal-mart normally has it in 5 quart jugs for $17-$20.

Yep.. Mobil 1 all the way for me. I didn't have to change my oil for like over 6 months.

For a long time I had gotten my oil changed at a Toyota dealership, 5W-30 factory oil and filter. After making the switch to 10W-30 fully synthetic Mobil-1 (still using Toyota filters), I haven't looked back. Mobil rocks, and Pheonix has already pointed out that you can get their 5-gallon oil jugs from Walmart for less than $20. Great deal

It's alright Tony, most of the S. Florida people did not show up because of the hurricane aftermath. Totally understandable.

Probably another meet, this time in your neck of the woods, would be in the cards in a couple of months
