CD Changer Installation
Hi everyone,
I have owned 2 ES300s (1996 and 2003). I am looking at a 95 for my 16 year old daughter. The car is nice but has no CD player. The head unit is set up to run the changer. I talked with Lexus and they stated that that changer (Pioneer) is no longer available. Even when it was, we are talking $800 to $1000 for the 6 disc changer alone. My question, is the Pioneer changer built for Lexus standard? Does anyone know a Pioneer part number (or model number) that is compatible with the OEM changer? I really don’t want to use RF modulation. I want the changer hardwired to the head unit. Also, is the car pre wired with plug hidden somewhere in the trunk?
I really appreciate any information you can provide.

i would try Ebay... for the cd changer.. but if you're talking about anything over 300bucks.. you should just get an aftermarket HU with a single CD ..... as far as the trunk preset... is there a wire there???.. that's the only way to know(wihtout taking anything apart).. but i thought the CD changer would be located on the glove box..

Thanks
Thanks for the repley. Actually, the CD changer on the 95 is mounted in the trunk...like my 96 was. I just cant remember the particulars as it has been 3 years since I owned the 96. I noticed that the changer (and all audio components) were made by Pioneer. I thought there may be a way to install a pioneer 6 cd changer in place of the OEM unit.
Thanks again
Thanks again
