97 es 300 smog problem

97 es 300 smog problem
I took my 97 es300 to speedee oil for a smog check today and it failed the emission. It wouldn't pass the 15 mph test. it measued at 62, and the ma is 52. They quoted a price for $85 for dianogistics, but i didn't want to pay that. Anyone have any idea what may be the problem or any quick fixes?

It depends on what the were testing. hc, or nox?
HC - is incomplete combustion. Check your plugs & anything regarding fueling. (o2 sensors, vacuum leaks, etc.)
NOx - check that the EGR system & cat convertor is working.
