Has anybody had problems with the front exhaust pipe on ES 300?

I'm not quite sure what you mean, are you talking about the exhaust manifold at the front of the engine or are you talking about the piping before the cat? I have a leak right now right before the cat. The stealership wanted $600 for a fix, but I am looking into getting the parts from toyota.

I have all the factory piping before the cat and a re-worked borla cat back after it.

What kind of problem do you have, just a leak? Have you had it looked at?

It is either the flex section or a gasket or it just may be loose. The tightening up the bolts on the y pipe and if that does not work youll be replacing something.

The mechanic says it's flex. some type of defect inside the pipe, that's what he told me. the whole pipe needs to be replaced. $1000.

Cool

900-1000 is the normal cost for the OEM replacement y-pipe.
Personally, if money is a problem & the flex-pipe is broken, buy new sections off ebay & just have someone cut the old off & weld the new in.
