O2 Sensor

O2 Sensor
My check engine light came on. The code is 135 which indicates that the engine bank 1 O2 sensor has failed. I checked the engine and one of the sensors is on the front of the engine the other on the rear. Does anyone know which of these is the bank 1 sensor?
Thanks, JohnM

Thanks, that's good news. I was hoping that was the one as I don't know how I would ever get at the on the rear bank. There just isn't any room to reach the rear sensor without taking a lot of things off.

The code you are getting (P0135) indicates the O2 sensor in the rear bank (which IS bank 1). That sensor is the hardest to get to of all four or three depending on the year ES you have).

yes.. it's the one located in the back of the engine... not the one you see on the front when you pop the hood.. good luck changing it.... i did mine and it was hell.... remember to let the car cool down first...

Na dude took me about 5 min to cut my rear one, install a new one & solder + heatshrink it in. Like he said, it's just 2 bolts. You just have to put your hand down in there.
It's hella easy if you move a hose out of the way.
