Default why i been away for so long

o k family i am back i was down and out for a while. O k this is the story earlier on in the month I was on my way to work I was on the feeder road just about to enter the freeway when all of a sudden i pick up speed to about 60 m.p.h. trying to pass this car that didn't want to let me over and my hood just flew up!! I was like what the F@#k so i pulled over and checked under the hood, that thing that goes from the part where you close the hood, and it hold's it in place broke of from where it is welded to the front of the car. Man was i upset, also it was another part that snapped into two from that part that broke of on the front, it's that metal peice that goes from the top to the bottom of the frame. My hood is ruing, total gone windshield was shattered, the top of the car has about 4 big dent's in it, I had to replace all my tags. Here is the worst part I had my sunroof cocked up and that also got shattered and one of the track was broke that slide's the sunroof. I was just fortunate that when all this went down I didn't kill myself and had a major wreck! Christmas was o.k. for me I am just happy to be here still cause that shooked me up!

Cool

That sucks.
That's happened to a number of Camry's that have gone with carbon fiber hoods.

the hardest part I am worring about is the hood, Lexus dealership told me the hood is $650 dollars. Man i tried even looking around the salvage yard in Houston but no one have the hood so I will probabaly have to park the car till I save up and drive my 240 SX.

Cool

Ya it's about imposible to find Lexi in salvage yards.
TAPRecycling.net. Good luck on the shipping. Frieght shipping wouldn't be real bad. Just make sure when a semi-truck delivers it to you, realize they just ship, they don't give it to you. Hoods are big, but not heavy. By the time you crated one you'd want a buddy to help ya grab it of the truck.

The bracket isn't a big deal, I'm sure you've figured out already, weld it back on straight & it's no big deal. better than new!

certifit parts has them really cheap...

Disposable cheap!

check it out in your local phonebook.

They are the same parts that body shops use to do repairs. I have used them before and the quality is pretty good for the money!

good luck
