Will the 2002 ES300 be the last ES made in Japan? I heard that starting in 2002, ES production will shift to North America (the redesigned RX will also be made in NA). Does anybody know when this will take place, or even if it will take place? I think it's such a shame. It's like BMW thinking about shifting 3-Series or 5-Series production here to SC. Could you imagine an American-made M3 or M5? I think it would lose a little of its image. Same thing with Lexus. Except they'll keep making the Windom and Harrier in Japan, just like the Camry. I'm fairly confident that they'll never shift LS or GS production here. If for some reason they do, I'll take it as a sign that the human race is truly damned, and God is very angry and will probably just take my own life...

I'm not sure about the ES but know for sure the redesigned RX will be made in NA. Logic would make me say the ES would be built in NA too b/c the ES and RX have the same platform, but I am not sure.
