95 ES300 Radio question
Hi,
I searched for any hint on how to remove my radio/tape deck unit but have not found anything. I did find instruction on 97-01 ES300's and I tried to use it but I don't know how to get to the two bolt on top of the radio since 92-96 series have different design.
I do have a CD button but never had a CD changer. Instead of adding a CD changer, I got a Cassette Adapter which I want to use to hook up my mp3 player to the audio system. Any hint would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks a bunch,
Alex

The problem is that 95 es300 have their vent higher, above the radio/ac unit and I have tried to take the vent out to the point of breading it but it won't come out. So I am not sure if the two other screws are under the vent. Has anyone tried taking the 95 es300 stock radio out? is taking the vent out the only way?
Thanks,

the vent has to be removed to expose the two top bolts holding the radio unit. the vent is held in very tight by those metal clips in the pics. just keep prying on one side of the vent until it pops out a little and start prying the other side til it pops out a little. then grab hold of both sides and wiggle the vent out until the metal clips releases. take your time, go easy and be careful not to carve up your dashboard with whatever tool you're using.

I dont think the 95 has clips, atleast my 96 didnt anyway. I think its just in there real tight. Get a real small hook tool and slide it between the A/C vent and the dash surrounding it. Then rotate the hook tool so it grabs onto the A/C vent, and then just pull it. I can post a picture later if necessary.

Unless you plan on installing a system then I would just go ahead and do the mp3 via cassette adapter. That's what I plan on doing
Mike.
