4th to 3rd Downshifting?
I've noticed sometimes I can feel the tranny downshifting by itself while im doing a slow brake stop through the brake pedal sometimes from 4th to 3rd gear, is this normal? 97Es

Yup, it's normal. I sometimes feel it in my '03ES and asked my Lexus service guy, and he told me that the transmission shifting logic was designed to do exactly what you're experiencing.
