Seafoam in the ES?
Has anyone had any problems using Seafoam in a top engine cleaning? I have used it in my GMC truck but just wanted to make sure that no one else has had any problems with their Lexus.

My opinion and experience is that the over the counter, in tank cleaners are a waste of money. If you need a top engine cleaner the best choice would be 3M's professional cleaner series, however you need special equipment to perform this service. BG also makes a product that appears to work well, same story on needing special gear....
Call around and find a fuel injection cleaning special, they're usually around $79.00.

Funny, my opinion is that if you dont' take the injectors off the car, you're not hleping them! ROTFLMAO!
He was asking about using it down the intake manifold.
Yes, it works very well. I've written several posts on how to use it by the book & safely. Search this forum for Seafoam.

Taking the injectors off the car serves no purpose other than to pad the labor bill.....

Because the fuel tank is only one application. You can put it in the crackcase, fuel tank, or IM. Trans-tune is the exact same thing as normal seafoam - just the opposite ratio of oils.
Or any other Toyota forum, it's pretty much taken over the Toyota community. Their own website (Tho it's not always clear), or go check the label on a can.
Seafoam is teh kewlz! A-#1 Okay
And actually, trace amounts get into the intake manifold via the fuel system also. Ask anyone that's ever used too much of it, or any thin oil based cleaner in their fuel system. While in open-loop warming up, or when you're on the gas a lot, you'll get mild smoke as it burns off in the combustion cahmber & exhaust manifolds.

thanks for the replies. I am going to use it in my intake. I should have clarified that I am not so much worried about using it as I am about what can happen after I use it. I am heading out on a long trip tomorrow in the Lex and so if there is a risk that I am going to foul my plugs after using Seafoam I don't want to do it until after I return.
