Default 2007 ES at chicago auto show?

Does anyone know if the 07 ES is supposed to be at the chicago auto show? The only other show i see it making its world debut is Houston, or New England auto show becasue of their sheer size and scope. The NY auto show is in april and that wud be way too late since the car is supposed to be coming out in late fbruary - early march.

Interesting that the ES' release->sale frame is much shorter, whereas the LS is going a year from release to sales.

I read on other boards too that the ES was going to be at Chicago...

Default April 15th?

Someone posting in the ES forum at Edmunds is claiming an April 15th release date for the new ES, and an unconfirmed debut at Chicago.

That's because Detroit is far too important a show for the auto makers, and the LS is the flagship car for Lexus. They needed to make big waves in Detroit and they've done just that....It only made the most sense to debut the LS in Detroit and leave the less exciting ES for a second tier show like Chicago.

Actually now im confused...looking at the media press kit...Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubish, Hyundai, Honda, GM, Chrysler are all doing world introductions at chicago auto show. Im thinking its the vehicles shown at the detroit press conferences. All those world introductions that have been shown at detroit in the past few days.... unless if im mistaken and it really are all new cars we havent seen at detroit already this year.

what do you guys think?

I know it's a great show but Detroit is the grand daddy in N. America........ Chicago, NY & LA are the next level.

There are new cars introduced in Chicago each year...

Example:
Last year (2005) Buick debuted the Lucerne, and Cadillac debuted the DTS in Chicago.
Toyota unveiled the FJ Cruiser Concept.

Etc.....

I think the L-Finesse is going to have to wait 5 more years since the ES350 is still based on the good ol Camry.
The next generation however, is going to be based on a platform totally independent of Camry's.

I contacted my dealer here...he told me he has seen the pictures of the next generation ES350. He said it will have the new Avalons engine at 268 HP. He said it is truly stunning both inside and outside. And is taking deposits for the vehicle. He said however he cannot show me the pictures since they are internal use only photos for staff, etc. Although he told me to think of it as a mini version of the new LS. I was like . He said..yes - its a mid sized version of the new LS. He told me 2 new colors are being added and said the MSRP with ML audio and navi would make the car right at 42K absolutely fully loaded with additional features not currently available on the current model.

Thats what he told me. I dont know how much of that is true and coaxed up
