Your A/C system works off the old fashioned R12 Freon system. The newer Lexus and Toyota vehicles starting 1994 converted to the ozone friendly R134a refrigerant.

He meant Factory Service Manual. That is a great source to use. But if you don't want to buy the whole thing you can go here for a minimal fee: http://techinfo.toyota.com

Do you know what the start date was on the R134 changeover?

I had a 93, it was R-154, and my 92 now is also R-154. I think the previous owner(s) had it converted.

yes can be converted, very easy and cheap[if done PROPERLY].

the fsm is a book that has information on the blinking light- that's what he/she meant by that.

if you take it somewhere, expect to pay 100 or less.

lexus will do it gladly, they already had a specific retrofit program designed in the 90's for the earlier ones.

if you are doing it yourself, contact me directly, and I will provide any guidance you might need, as best as I can over the internet.

PS mine is starting to go too, just like yours, which is funny [we both have 93]

I'm probably going to delve into mine in a month and probably end up doing a retrofit. when I do, you can bet that i will make a thread all about it :>

PPS no one has r154, but i think you meant r134, mister "3000". 94+ models have r-134a, and 93- models have r-12.
