Default Time for big tune-up for my 97 ES

After 9 and something years at 260, xxxx kms.....finally had the 2nd T-belt change
Orginally i m going in for the T-belt change($300 CAD), <acutally the belt is still in pretty good condition after 130,xxx kms of driving> but i did hear some ticking noise from the engine, so i have the vavle adjustment (around $500) at the same time, and find out that most of my rear valve is not working properly(which made it unbalance); 1 of my vavle cap is shot.. and other are having a big gap, where the front is almost perfect with no adjustment need. However, i never had it adjust, therefore my mech said it may be the fault when it coming out of the factory initially; where those ppl are not adjusting / install properly.

Luckly my engine had no sign of sludge problem (actually it is pretty clean for a 260,xxx kms) thanks for syn - oil.

My car is still in the shop, hope no more bad news coming...

on side.... i m almost thinking of selling the ES for a mini Copper S....due to those bad news...

Cool

^ I doubt a lot of that. You would know if the valves were out of adjustment, or a shim was busted.
It would tick like a mad-man very, very loud. It would sound like my engine, just not as loud.

If they actually did a valve job, that's cool tho. Too bad they can't take the valves off & clean them. God I bet they're nasty!

Anyways.

mini coopers

Mini Cooper S

Multi-Charged Helix GT28R turbo + Supercharger VS supercharge by itself

After mild tuning:
Blue = 11psi S/C
Green = 20psi S/C
Red = 20psi (9psi turbo wastegate + 11psi pulley)

Helix later says they got (But never showed proof AFAIK, but I don't do mini-coopers) 300whp by running like a tiny 5psi pulley & a combined 23psig (psi - gauge pressure)
