Gold L oranaments on Hood and Trunk of 98 ES-300
The Gold "L" insignia or ornament which ever you prefer has lost all the plating!! How do I remove these and has anyone had any experience in replating or is there a souce to have this done. If not where is least costly source for replacements Thanks Bargeline

YOU CAN GET A NEW ONE FROM E-BAY . STILL LOT OF ARE ON SALE RIGHT NOW ON E-BAY . I GOT MINE FOR $ 40 ( INCLUDING SHIPPING ) .

sub786 - Typing in all caps means that you are shouting/yelling at others in the forum. Usually folks type in all caps when they are shouting/yelling out of anger. Writing in all caps is only seen this way on an forum within the wwwworld... When others are reading the forum messages seeing that someone is typing in all caps can poorly represent the message that is being said. Such as by typing in all caps on your initial reply basically adds a suggested insult to the origional poster for this thread. Basically if you started the thread by saying Hey moron, you can get a new one from EBay...it would be rather crass. When typing in all caps the "Hey moron" part is insinuated (sp?) by just how the words show up on the page.
In reference to the origional post though there is a way to replate the gold emblems but it is acutally cheaper to find them on EBay as mentioned here. You do run the risk though of recieving a knock-off decal and not the real thing. You can ask your Lexus dealer about replating the emblems and they should be able to either offer a price or direct you to someone who can do them for you. I have a 2000 Toyota and the Gold emblems are shot on it so I will be looking to have someone redo mine in the next year or so. The Lexus dealer actually gave me a price quote of $100.00 to have it done by their detailer but I may be able to find a cheaper price elsewhere.
