Angry An irritating problem

Everytime I touch the air filter housing for the ES300 (to remove a dirty air filter, to put in a new one or my k&n replacement), and after everything is installed back, when I start the car, it will idle to less than 600 rpm for less than 2 seconds, then die. I restart the car, then I press the gas pedal for like a minute, rev a few times so the car stays on, and when I let it idle for a second or two, the car will die again. I keep doing the reving over again and again for about 7-10 times, and then the car will idle back to 1000rpm and be fine. It has been doing this EVERY time I "touch" the air filter housing, and it ONLY happens with that "air filter" situation, other than that the car is fine. This is an irritaing problem and I can't stand it. Does any one know what the problem is? Any reply is fine.
