I was at the "Alluring Drive" test event last Saturday at El Toro Marine Base. There were a sea of cones spread all over the tarmac. Brand new competitor cars were also used for the test drives i.e., BMW 325, MB C240, E320, Acura 3.2, Lincoln LS, Volvo S60t.

The new ES has a longer, sleeker body. Inside, the seating really struck me as the best! Much better than my LS and all the competitor cars present at El Toro.

The drive is much, much, more silent. It is eery. Light steering, powerful acceleration.

Corners are not as exciting as it is in the BMW but generally fall in the same category as all the competitors. In fact, the ES cornered better than the C240 in my opinion.

Worst car driven was the Lincoln LS (too slow and boaty) and S60t (for too much vibration and mediocre acceleration). Best on the twisties and even acceleration was the Bimmer. Of course, these are all from the seat of the pants!

Thank you Lexus for having this kind of event.

The body style is really sleek, beautiful, and agile in form. Lexus did not experiment here unlike the SC design which appears controversial to some. I think that there is fluidity in the design, where the angles and curves are in harmony with the lines. This is Armani-like.
the only thing that's bold is the front headlights. It swoops in above the front fender and you need a bit of time to get used to it (a la Celica).

When the car was driven into the stage (with the Xenon lights and all), the driver parked it at an angle. The audience immediately clapped their hands. This is one sleek, fast design. I know Lexus has got a winner with this one.
