Default Broken Grill on 2004 ES 330! Defect? Warranty?

I have a 2004 ES 330 and I just noticed my grill is somewhat broken. The front piece of the grill is loose because it has cracked in a couple of places where it attaches to the front hood. It is still held in place, but it is very loose. I've never been in an accident before and take very good care of the car. How could this have happened? From opening/shutting the hood? Or is there a known defect? I am the only owner of the car, it only has 24K miles, and I've owned the car for only 2 years. I baby the damn car and this ***** still happens!

Would something like this be covered under warranty by dealer???

I'm thinking of having them look at it at my next oil change in a few months.

THANKS!

Not exactly sure why your grille is found to be broken, but I highly doubt it's a manufacturing defect. Lexus produces parts on all their cars that can stand the test of time for a long time. With that said, it's possible that you caught a flying sharp rock while driving on a highway, or some idiot took the liberty to damage your grille. In either case, the dealership may not help much at all with the situation, but good luck.

BTW check for '02-'04 ES grilles on Ebay. I see them pop up once in a while.

$135 oem pre-painted free shipping @ www.newlexusparts.com

yea it's a possibilty.. be careful opening/closing your hood.. i tend to grab onto the grill part bc thats where the hood latch is located behind.
