Smile Where to buy HID kit?

I have a 95 ES300. I'm planning to get a HID kit b/c the 85w bulb burnt the plastic harness. Based on many threads, I plan to get the Phillip 6000K. This is the best kit and popular temp correct? Does any one know where is a good reputable place to get the kit either online or in So Cal? Thanks for all your help.

BTW, there is no such thing as OEM or HID retrofit housing for '95, right?

You could buy an HID kit from most tuner shops. They mostly sell them for about $485 and up (without the HID projector reflectors). And by the way, specifically what city are you in So Cal (or close to) ?

Cool

You'll need to shim the bulb out, or cut the cut-off & put in a new one.
Otherwise you're gonna glare.

I've had the Phillips Ultinon's for several years now.

Hey Pheonix, what's that one site that had this picture? If forgot what that site was, I only saved the Pix, not the URL...

Oh, pshh I forgot, maybe it wasn't you who posted the HID site Link. I think it was Gato, or someone else, my bad. It was just some long time ago, like 3-4 months. They put up a Link and it had a lot of info on HID lighting. That picture is on the background of the site and I just can't remember which site it was from because I never finished reading all the important stuff. but if you don't know then, I'll just look it up from my "past posts" (that is if I ever replied to a post with the link).

Hi all,

I'm near Anaheim, where the Disneyland is. 3000, you know any local place that is good? Sometime the first bulb which is installed is a dead one, and I must be able to replace it right away w/o getting any hassle. Thus, I want to find a place that has more customer-oriented service as I will install it myself. Therefore, I come here for recommendation for either a good local store or online shopping. Thanks all.

Pheonix, where/when did you get the Philips Ultinon 6000k HID's? I had been trying to acquire those for longgg time, a plug-n-play (not retro-conversion, etc'... w/ D2S). Since the Ultinon bulbs are rebased (if not D2S or D2R), often it's difficult to prove authenticity, even by using the Ultinon hallmarks (bloodstain halide crystals, blue ceramic wire, etc'...). I've been 'duped' a few times w/ those HID kits, sigh...

Anyways, on topic...

www.HIDPlanet.com/forums is excellent place to get the FAQ's.

Seems like a quality Mcullouch 6000k HID kit will be around ~$250 & Philips Ultinon 6000k HID kit will be ~$450.

Kwimports (eBay & ClubLexus.com & others), XenonDepot.com, and zgperformance (eBay, Peter) seem to be 'legit' sources for Philips Ultinon 6000k HID kits (rebased Ultinon D2S bulbs & Hella Gen III or Philips Gen IV ballasts)

I've owned both Mcullouch & Philips Ultinon, I only recommend those two (of-course for use in projector housing).
