hi there, i read the threads on the keyless programming,

I have one valet key and ordered a keyless fob from ebay,

the procedure goes correct with unlocking and locking the door 5 times and then open close, then 5 more times of lock unlock,

then i have to put the valet key in to turn to igniton since the other key has the wrong blade on it
the locks cycle once as it should

but then when i press the remote fob lock , the locks cycle 2 times and then the rest of the procedure does not work, the lock button on the fob fails to cycle the locks any more etc and nothing.

do you know if you can program a keyless with only a valet key present?

and what is the cheapest option to get a new key.

dealer says new computer is paid by lexus, and the key is 260 and programm is 140.

Run a diagnostic test to make sure that your receiver does not fail. I had a similar problem that you have, i.e the rest of the programming did not work. I ran the diagnostic test, and it eliminates down to possibly either the receiver or antenna. I saw nothing wrong w/ the antena. I haven't replaced the receiver. My wife loves me more b/c it makes me become more of a gentleman. I opened her side first, which unlocks the rest of the car. I held the door for her while the kids can get in the back themselves. ; < )
