Stinky ES300
Hi,
Hoping someone out there can help...I've had my 92 ES300 in the shop 3 times to try to find out why it stinks whenever I turn the heat on (only after it gets heated up). I've had it checked for leaks but to no avail. It resembles a burning smell...like the old heating element type of stoves. For some reason mechanics say they don't smell anything. My brother mentioned a bad heater core?
Thanks for the help.

'92 ES300's Burning Smell Also. When Running Auto A/C Though.
Hi all you Lexus experts. I just bought & had a '92 ES300 shipped to TN. from southern CA. Only 52,000 mi. on it. I like the car a lot. Very nice shape overall, but the burning rubber or maybe oil like smell has me miffed. Usually when the auto climate control A/C mode is on that the smells permeates through the vents. Any ideas? I don't see any evidence of that smoke from the eng. comp. you get from burning oil though. Maybe a bad belt or it's making excessive friction? I've read a lot of posts on valve cover gaskets to rear main seal leaks. A friend thinks its a belt burning up. Hmm. Help, please.
