How many guys shift manually on the automatic or just lut the ect do the work?
I just wanted to see what method people think is quicker or is actually quicker. I know sometimes I feel like there is no difference between Ect off or on. I do a lot of downshifting with the auto at lowspeeds to get a quicker take off.

It's faster by itself, and inconsistant by hand.
It will still wait to the RPM it wants to shift, and you will still sit around twittling thumbs while the ECU first retards the timing, then let's the acuators fill with fluid, then move the shift solenoids, then the fluid rushes down to the shift valves & moves the brakes & clutches around.
Most people shift too late high of an rpm anyways & wind up wasting time with it.
Do a quick powerbrake, leave it in drive & turn ETC on if you have it. Adjust your TV cable if you have one.

I guess I voted to soon. If, "Ect off and shift throught the gears on the automatic " means that the ECT light is on the dashboard, then I'll leave my vote as is, otherwise, "Ect on and shift throught the gears on the automatic "
